Ohio’s Benefit Bridge Pilot Program

Economic Mobility Alliance Ohio’s May 2025 webinar focused on Ohio’s Benefit Bridge Pilot program.

This innovative pilot supports Ohioans who are facing benefits cliffs over an 18-month program, which includes success planning, financial wellness curriculum, supportive services and work supports to help workers stay employed through benefits cliffs, and earn incentives if goals are achieved.

The program began with six pilot counties and is now operating in 12 counties. Almost 500 Ohioans are currently enrolled in the program.

-Keith Barnes, Senior Director of Beyond the Cliff, Martha O'Bryan Center, covering the national perspective

-Angela Carnahan, Workforce Development Administrator, Licking County Job & Family Services, diving into Ohio's pilot program

-Rosemarie Caward, Senior Project Specialist, EMPath, discussing the Economic Mobility Bridge assessment tool

Benefits Cliffs 101

This was the first webinar hosted by Economic Mobility Alliance Ohio discussing what benefits cliffs are, how families experience cliffs, who in Ohio is impacted by cliffs, and how cliffs can be mitigated and solved through positive policy changes.
