In March 2025, EMAO hosted the first Economic Mobility Budget Advocacy Day, with 55 advocates joining more than 32 legislative meetings to advocate for budget investments to bridge benefits cliffs and support economic mobility.

EMAO submitted written interested party testimony to the Ohio Senate Finance Committee on HB96, Ohio’s State Fiscal Years 2026-2027 Operating Budget. Read our testimony here.

Over our almost 2 years of collaboration, EMAO has met with U.S. Senator Jon Husted’s office, the Ohio Lieutenant Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, multiple state legislators on stand-alone legislation, national think tank partners, and Ohio-based groups advancing solutions to benefits cliffs.

EMAO has hosted four policy webinars and invited 7 guest speakers tp EMAO monthly meetings to discuss the latest in economic mobility policy and how Ohio can continue to be a leader in addressing benefits cliffs.
